I’ve never done any yoga before, where should i Begin?
We welcome all levels of experience with yoga to our general flow classes but at The Fourth Floor we especially cater for those new to yoga or those with limited mobility or injuries. To learn some core movement and alignment principles before joining a class, we offer One-on-One sessions, and our Yin Yoga classes are perfectly suitable for absolute beginners.
What should i bring? what should i wear?
We have plenty of yoga mats and props for use so there’s no need to bring your own.. though you are most welcome to! Just wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that’s easy to move in, and perhaps a water bottle. Though if you forget yours don’t worry, we have plenty of filtered water to keep you hydrated.
are there change rooms and shower facilities?
We have a spacious non-gendered bathroom with a single lockable change room cubicle and two toilet cubicles. There are 2 shower cubicles though they aren’t lockable and because the bathroom is a shared, non-gendered facility, may be used only at your discretion.
How do i find you? do i need to arrive earlier than the class start time?
We are situated in the heart of the city, on The Fourth Floor of Ten Story creative arts hub, Studio 65 Murray St. Enter the glass sliding doors next to Lush and Betts shoes on the corner of Liverpool and Murray St and take the lift or spiral staircase to level 4. It’s a good idea to arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to class start times to sign in and settle in, or even earlier if you’ve not been to the studio before and need to fill in our New Student Form, or Purchase a Pass. Please note that the studio opens 20 minutes prior to class start times only and that most often, the doors will be locked at the commencement of class.
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO PARK?
There are two undercover car parks within a few minutes walk from our centre - Hobart Central on Melville St and Centrepoint on Victoria St with free parking for the first 90 minutes. Both can be busy in the late morning and middle of the day but are generally easy options in the early morning and afternoon. There are also 2 hour metered spaces on Murray St between Brisbane and Melville streets (outside K and D) that are often available and just a short 2 block walk toward the city.
do you hire out your lovely space?
Yes, yes we do.
Do I need to register and pay online before my class?
All of our classes and workshops are available online to register your place and to purchase your pass prior to attending. This works well for many students as it acts as an incentive to show up for yourself once you have booked and committed. It also saves time for you and your teacher at the often busy time of signing in before class. Please do also feel free to just to drop in to the studio without prior registration.
Do you offer concession rates?
Yes we do! Our discounted concession rates are available to view on our Pricelist page, however we only take payment for concession passes in house after sighting a current student, pension or health care card.
Can i claim through my private health fund?
All of our Remedial Massage therapists do offer Health Fund Rebates and we are able to process the claim on the spot through Hicaps. Just bring along your your private health fund card to your treatment. Some health fund extras do cover yoga, Pilates and fitness classes too. Our yoga teachers are looking into registering for health fund rebates in the near future. Stay tuned!
I BOUGHT A multi class pass but have been unable to attend classes due to iLlness or ABSENCE FROM hobart. Is it possible to extend the expiry date on my pass?
We understand that circumstances change and are happy to extend the expiry on class passes in these cases. Just send us an email to info@thefourthfloor.com.au letting us know the details and we’ll fix it up on the system for you.
what is your cancellation policy?
No refunds are given for cancellations, however transfers to future sessions might be possible in some circumstances. If a class is cancelled by the studio, refunds will be given for those who have paid.
What about for series passes?
There are no refunds or transfers of series passes once the series has started, unless the series is cancelled by the teacher. For missed classes due to illness or other reasons, passes may be gifted to another person.
Single passes purchased for series classes or once off events cannot be refunded, however you may transfer to a future class or event if the class cannot be attended due to illness or other reasons. Please contact us to request a transfer.
